Writing and Peer-reviewing Scientific Papers Seminar (American Chemical Society)
The National Institute of Advanced industrial Science and Technology (AIST) will hold a seminar about writing and peer-reviewing scientific papers. The seminar will mainly be composed of talks to be given by different editors and researchers from the American Chemical Society. It will also focus on current innovations on the field of chemical science. This event is free and open to students (especially those studying in the field of sciences). The program will last from 12:30PM to 6:00PM on May 11, 2018 at Central 1 Auditorium of AIST. See the flyer below for more detailed information.

Symposium on Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine
University of Tsukuba, alongside The University of Ediburgh, a leading university in the field of Medicine and the alma mater of the late Charles Darwin, is going to conduct a symposium on Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine in University of Tsukuba at the Innovative Building (8th floor) on the 16th of April 2018. Several professors and experts from both universities, Shiga Medical University and Riken BioResource Research Center will be discussing various topics in relation to the aforementioned theme. Everyone is invited to attend this symposium! For more details about the symposium, please see the pictures below.
Charity Spring Fiesta
Tsukuba Catholic Church will be having a charity celebration of Mother's Day on May 14, 2017. Exciting games and activities will be done during the event. It is a great opportunity to have a good fellowship between the Japanese and International communities. The funds that will be collected in this event will help the detainees at Ushiku Dentention Center.
43rd Dormitory Festival
FAST will be participating the annual Dormitory Festival held at the Hirasuna Dormitory area. Various student groups from different countries will be selling foods and drinks on May 27-28, 2017. FAST will be selling Filipino-style snack like Arroz Caldo, Goto, Turon, and many more! Come visit our FIESTA! booth during the festival. More Information will be published later.
Summer Research Program in Tsukuba
Selected students will be assigned to a laboratory within the campus of the Faculty of Medicine or Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences. The students take part in research, attend lectures, and present their research results. During the 2 weeks’ period, both international and our students will have an opportunity for cultural exchange and scientific communications.

- Undergraduate (3rd, 4th or 5th year) or Graduate (1st and 2nd year) students
- Grade Point Average (GPA) of above 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or 75% (out of 100)
